MISSION
To Expose, Engage, and Empower our youth to be the innovators of tomorrow through education in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (S.T.E.A.M.). In addition to funding partners, we have volunteerism, mentorship, and in-kind support to reach our youth with S.T.E.A.M. education.
PROGRAM
S.T.E.A.M. subjects encourage children of all ages to be critical thinkers, have a future career edge, become problem solvers, and prepare them for the jobs of tomorrow.
• S.T.E.A.M. education engages kids to be critical thinkers. As critical thinkers kids will look at situations objectively to consider all the possibilities, not just what is most likely. Kids will learn to go beyond conventional solutions and become innovative thinkers.
• The future of S.T.E.A.M. is bright! Engaging kids in S.T.E.A.M. education gives them an edge in growing career fields by preparing them to be a part of the global workforce and grow the economy. According to statistics by the U.S. Department of Labor, the fastest-growing occupations will be in S.T.E.A.M. fields. Per the Bureau of Labor and Statistics, S.T.E.A.M. jobs are projected to outgrow non-S.T.E.A.M. jobs.
• Problem solving is an important 21st Century skill. S.T.E.A.M. learning engages kids to be problem solvers. As problem solvers kids learn to analyze problems using the Scientific Method and Engineering Design. In learning these methods through S.T.E.A.M. education kids will have 21st century skills to not only troubleshoot but experiment, research, invent and innovate.
• Jobs of Tomorrow: Children today need to be prepared for the world as it evolves around them. This evolution requires literacy in S.T.E.A.M. subjects as they will be the fields that will continue to grow and shape our society. Even if a child does not select a S.T.E.A.M. field to work in, we still have an obligation to help our kids understand and apply concepts that will shape the world around them. Children can apply S.T.E.A.M. learning concepts to all aspects of life for a better future and to help build a better world.
