In early November, Sarasota County learned that it will soon be home to Rumble, a fast-growing technology company with a video sharing platform that had more than 40 million monthly average users as of August this year—and continues to increase. The company will establish its U.S. headquarters in Longboat Key.

According to Rumble’s representatives, discussions with local officials and stakeholders led the company to choose Sarasota County because of the area’s friendly business climate, its proximity to tech resources, and the potential for further development.

The EDC of Sarasota County and Enterprise Florida both played key roles in bringing Rumble to Sarasota. The EDC team worked with Rumble’s team to facilitate site selection and other resources necessary for company relocation. Sarasota County Board of County Commissioners awarded an economic development incentive grant in recognition of the well-paying jobs that Rumble intends to create. The company projects that it will create 165 news jobs with wages averaging $170,000 for management positions, and $80,000 for non-management positions–well above the average. The grant will be paid to Rumble, over a period of 10-years, as the jobs are created and then maintained.

Company representatives also state that Rumble will invest upwards of $50 million in the state of Florida over the next several years.

“We are happy to welcome Rumble, which met the EDC’s criteria for company relocation in every way,” stated Lisa Krouse, the EDC’s President and CEO. “They are a creative tech company that is bringing high-wage jobs and investing in our community. Our purpose as an EDC is to diversify our local economy, and Rumble is helping us do just that.”

Rumble founder and CEO Chris Pavlovski stated, “Moving to Longboat Key is a win-win for Rumble and the local business community. Sarasota County is growing rapidly, and we are excited to be part of that growth. We are also excited to invest in Florida in the coming years while we continue to grow Rumble.”
