“We weren’t able to gather in person for either of our annual luncheons this year, so we decided to create one hybrid event that includes the best of our two events”, states Dave Bullock, President & CEO of the EDC of Sarasota County. He adds, “The biggest advantage to hosting a virtual event is that we aren’t confined to this community. People can log in to attend from anywhere.”

The EDC Partnered with S-One Holdings to design a live webcast set design. Art Lambert, CEO comments, “Our goal was to design a realistic virtual production stage to keep that sense of community, we all want, intact. Even though we will record the event participants standing in a green screen, we were able to create a virtual environment where our hosts, our guests, and our audience seem to be in the same room. We couldn’t be together physically, but I believe we created a production where everyone can still connect and have an entertaining experience.”

The event will open with the presentation of the 6th Annual Ringling College Innovation in Creative Design Award, and the 14th Annual Clyde Nixon Business Leadership Award.

Following the awards presentation, will be the presentation from the Keynote Speaker, Dr. Sean Snaith, appearing for the 10th year to breakdown the economic outlook for our community and state following the 2020 election. Dr. Snaith is the Director of the University of Central Florida’s Institute for Economic Competitiveness. Snaith’s perceptive insights and hilarious observations about our local, regional, national and global economy are as entertaining as they are informative.

Snaith is a nationally recognized economist in the field of business and economic forecasting. He is the recipient of multiple awards for the accuracy of his forecasts, his research and his teaching. He has served as a consultant for local governments and multinational corporations such as IBM, Dell and Compaq. Snaith has been quoted in the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, The New York Times, the Economist and the London Guardian and has appeared on CNBC, Fox Business Network, the Nightly News, the BBC, China Central TV, Sky News and Nippon TV.
